Statement of Purpose

I took a black and white film photography class in college and won an award while a student . After college I took film photos on and off. The problem with film is that it is very, very, expensive. Also, while shooting the photos is fun, I enjoyed making the prints a lot more. Dark rooms are rare and just as expensive as film. After college I did not have the money to continue photography as a regular hobby.

Fast forward to 2019: I buy a Nikon D3500 on a labor day sale. I begin taking photos again as a hobby. But, I don't do anything with them. Not only leaving the pictures on the camera but I didn't edit or share them. in late 2020 I bought Affinity Photo with the same thought of buying an expensive piece of exercise equipment; the more you spend - the more likely you are to start using it. I didn't open the software for over a year.

It is January 2021 and I decided that I want to share my photos and learn to use Affinity. My goal is to publish a 'finished' photo once a week for the year. I don't have a lot of ideas of what to take photos of, nor what 'finished' will be in most cases. But something will be here every Sunday.

Stay tuned.
